Networking opportunities
After a year on the program, the average graduate will have a contact in every government department! As you change departments and participate in on-the-job and formal training, you will meet a wide range of people.
Making connections with other graduates and people in other roles in government is an integral part of the Graduate Recruitment and Development (GRAD) Scheme.

Networking through learning and development
You will be involved in a range of professional development activities with other graduates, giving you regular opportunities to meet new people and exchange experiences.
Team-based projects, such as the
learning teams, will introduce you to groups of other graduates. Through
rotations to three different departments, you will also get to know a range of people at all levels.
Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) seminars
IPAA is a professional organisation for public sector employees. IPAA aims to increase public sector knowledge, strengthen networks and provide opportunities to learn about major directions in government and public administration. To do this, IPAA runs conferences, seminars and other professional development activities.
Graduates can attend selected IPAA seminars free of charge. Discounted membership is also offered. More details are available on the Institute’s web site at
www.ipaa.org.au
Graduate Recruit Alumni Society (GRAS)

GRAS is committed to continuing the professional development and job networking opportunities initiated by the GRAD Scheme.
