There are opportunities for salary increases at the time of your mid-year performance review as well as indexed annual salary increases.
If you are a graduate in the Generalist, Accounting and Finance, or Economics stream you receive a salary increase (over $50,000 plus superannuation) and promotion to a Victorian Public Service Officer Grade 3 on return to your home department after your rotations, subject to performance.

Conditions and other benefits
Working hours
Normal working conditions are 38 hours per week with flexible work practices. This includes the potential for flexible start and finish times, and working from home options. At times, additional hours may be necessary.
Study leave
Study leave arrangements are also possible, depending on approval. Graduates in the Accounting & Finance stream are provided with study and exam leave to assist with further study (eg CA, CPA or FINSIA).
Work and family
The Victorian Government offers a working environment that recognises the need to balance work and family commitments. Benefits include paid maternity and paternity leave (14 weeks and 1 week respectively) after 12 months continuous paid service, plus additional leave without pay arrangements for new parents. Women returning from maternity leave have access to part-time work arrangements.
